NEW- First game of the year- Mike Robbins and Jon Shaw vs. Mike Martin and Jon Robbins- The game started as a pitching duel, but was quicly broken open by a Mike robbins hr. He had 2 in the game including a triple decker jack. He had 4 rbi's on the game, and Jon Shaw had 2 rbi but just 2 hits in the game. Mike robbins continued his dominating pitching with 3 no hit innings with 6 k's, followed by a very differant style from Mike, Jon Shaw pitching the final 2 innings giving up no hits with 1 k to end the game for the combined perfect game. A good game to start the season.
RECENT IDEAS
1. offial homerun derby to start up the season with one pitcher doing it all to be fair, pitching easy pitches, and a real wall to tell if they are homeruns or not
2. use mike robbins laptop to keep up to date stats while playing. the batting team will keep their teams batting stats and the other teams pitching/fielding stats. it will be much more organized and much less room for error with stats.
3. use digital camera to take pictures while playing
4. use digital camera to take short 5-10 second film of players doing their best thing (mike robbins hitting a homerun, jonro fielding at first etc) and put them in player profiles
5. make each player their own website page with picture of them, their weight, height, stuff like that, then stats and scouting reports
6. film an entire game using martins video camera, the players who are waiting to bat can film
Howdy All, the new summer is creeping in on us, but this year the league will be played very differently than it was last summer, because even though the ideas were good, they never worked out. the main change being made is that the already "set up teams" will be eliminated, along with the schedule. now there will be the "raptors," which is any team with Jon Shaw, and/or Mike Martin on it, or the unnamed team which will be any team that has Mike Robbins on it. Any other players will be chosen by the captains, and fair games will be made. We will still keep track of stats like we did last summer. games will now not be scheduled before the season starts, most games will be planned the day before or the day of, and there will only be 2 fields because the other 2 were never used last year. those will be martin and robbins fields.
Another thing i hope to have is a big tournament in which any one can join, with a entrance fee, winner taking all, any body can submit their own team with at least 4 people, no more than 6.
